  • What is a Thai Massage?
Thai Massage is a traditional healing practice that originated in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. Also known as Thai Yoga Massage, it combines rhythmic pressure, stretching, and assisted yoga poses to release tension, improve flexibility, and promote overall wellness. Unlike other forms of massage, Thai Massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor, and both giver and receiver are fully clothed. Through gentle compression and passive stretching, Thai Massage helps to balance the body's energy pathways, known as "sen lines," leaving you feeling rejuvenated and revitalised.
  • What are the benefits of Thai Massage?
Thai Massage offers a wide range of benefits for both the body and the mind. Some of the key benefits include: Increased flexibility and range of motion Relief from muscle tension and stiffness Improved circulation and lymphatic drainage Enhanced energy flow and vitality Stress relief and relaxation Better alignment and posture Boosted immune function Promotes deeper breathing and better sleep Whether you're looking to alleviate chronic pain, recover from injury, or simply unwind and recharge, Thai Massage can provide a holistic approach to wellness that addresses your individual needs.
  • What should I wear during a Thai Massage?
Thai Massage is performed fully clothed without the use of oils or lotions. Comfort is key, therefore I recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement, such as yoga pants or sweatpants and a t-shirt. Avoid wearing restrictive clothing that may limit your mobility.
  • I have an injury, can I receive a Thai Massage?
Always consult with your healthcare professional first. Thai Massage can be very helpful in case of : (lower) back pain, knee pain, neck and shoulder pain. Please talk to me before booking, depending on the nature and severity of your injury, I can tailor the session to your needs and make sure I treat injured areas with care. If you have had a fever in the last 24 hours or a surgery in the last 2 weeks, you cannot receive a Thai Massage.
  • Can I receive a Thai Massage at my place?
Yes you can, I have a fully mobile set-up. Your treatment can take place in the comfort of your house or hotel. All I need for the treatment is an empty floor space of about 2x2m. Additional charges for transport may apply. Contact me to discuss the options.
  • What should I expect during a typical yoga class?
My classes always start with a short meditation and a good warm-up. I offer three different types of classes: Yang classes: Strong flows to strengthen and stretch your body in a mindful way, with consistent breathing. Yin classes: Aimed at relaxing the nervous system, this class consists of passive stretches and you’ll hold each pose for 3-5 minutes. Yin/Yang classes: Expect a blend of more active postures and flows at the beginning, followed by longer holds towards the end of the session. All classes end with a savasana pose (also known as corpse or resting pose) for you to be still and fully integrate the benefits of the practice.
  • I'm a beginner. Are there beginner-friendly classes available?
Yes! Generally all classes are available for all levels of yogis, but if you are new to yoga, I will be more than happy to help you get started with a special 5-class introduction program where we focus on foundational poses, basic alignment principles, and breathing techniques.
  • Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
If only I would get one euro every time someone told me: I am not flexible enough to do yoga! You do not need to be flexible to do yoga. In fact, yoga can help improve flexibility over time through regular practice. Whether you're naturally flexible or have limited mobility, there are modifications and variations of poses that can be tailored to meet your specific needs and abilities.
  • What should I bring to a yoga class?
I will provide yoga mats and props. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely plus something to keep you nice and warm during savasana (our resting pose at the end of class). You may want to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. It's also a good idea to arrive a few minutes early to quietly settle in before our practice begins.
  • What are the benefits of practicing yoga?
The benefits of practising yoga are numerous and extend beyond just physical health. Regular yoga practice can improve flexibility, strength, and balance, while also promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and mental clarity. Additionally, yoga has been shown to support cardiovascular health, boost immune function, and enhance overall well-being.
